Pretty in Palazzo

Go for comfort this summer without sacrificing an ounce of style. We’re loving high-waisted, bold & printed wide-leg pants. We know, this trend can be a bit daunting at first, but we’re here to walk you through it. If you’re rocking a pair with an all-over bold print, then keep it more basic and neutral on top. Wear them with a pair of sandals or your favorite wedges.

Ikat get enough

No one wants to be a plain Jane. That’s why I love all the new prints that are popping up in fashion left and right. One in particular that keeps catching my eye is Ikat, which is a dying technique used to create unique patterns on different textiles. These textile patterns are thought to originate from India and South-East Asia, and simply looking at them transports my mind to a sunny vacation.

dress like a man -

ladies, grow some balls and suit up

Okay, so maybe not so literally. BUT, and I’ll probably get my ass kicked for saying this, sometimes ladies need to dress more like a dude.

Besides, there’s something inexplicably sexy about a woman who can wear a suit, buttoned up and all business and still manage to look beautiful. Granted these suits are not of a Dick Tracy cut or feel, no… they’re tailored and cuffed high around the ankle with a gorgeous satin/cotton stretch in a pinstripe or a deep navy. Mix solids with prints and think in terms of separates. Whip out a pair of shorts with a longer tuxedo blazer. Anything goes.

TRIBUNE STANDARD SHAWL COLLAR BLAZER AND SHORTS, $749

Sometimes, when the jacket comes off, there’s nothing underneath. I don’t know about you, but I don’t know many men out there that could rock that look (balls or not).

this coach

feels first class

I remember my first Coach bag like it was yesterday. It was huge, black on black with silver hardware and I thought I was the sh*t. I kind of was… ha. Coach is the typical “entry” for the newbie fashionista. Those of us that can’t resist, move into finer and far more expensive territories (you know, the ones that leave you eating top ramen for a month).

It’s been a while since I’ve actually purchased a Coach bag. I tend to avoid them not because I think they lack sophistication or style. No, I avoid because it seems that every woman on the planet owns one. I’ve sometimes felt like the original, tailored and classic look of Coach had been somewhat devalued with this mass consumption. Perhaps that is why Coach’s newest line has me begging for more…

It’s bright, it’s bold and it’s SO very different from anything they’ve done as of late. It seems as though they took a cue from Balenciaga, Prada and Minkoff all at once. Still true to their classic lines, Coach has stepped it up. Me likey.
