The second of my favorite lesser known presenters at mens fall 2012 fashion week is james long – quickly becoming known for his forward minded creations. The take away from his collection are complex knits playing with the idea of bulk without taking things too over the top or voluminous. I love his ability to play with pattern while keeping the concept still muted and wearable. I think his restraint is truly what makes the collection not only unique but a major indicator of his probable longevity in the industry. Translate his looks into lighter weight patterned sweaters this fall with a tendency for shawl collars and other nods to the bulkier more oversized sweaters of past. This is definitely a trend and designer to watch.
