Designer Consuelo Consiglioni of mens design house marni is my first of five lesser known designers that I felt stood out this year in mens fall 2012 fashion week. Giving a well blended collection of looks inspired as she said “from the 50′s, 60′s and 70′s as seen through the mind of a man in 2012″ – I found the collection fluid, interesting and a little reminiscent of early jil sander. I would watch for Marni to grow into a household name with modern takes on some classic looks like the v-neck sweater and the trench for example. Using thick and hearty construction combined with luxurious and subtle details like fur used on the inner lining – will certainly set this brand apart from others taping into the retro-frame of mind.
